I’ve always thought it must be terrifying for regular townsfolk when an adventuring party comes to town. Secretive, powerful individuals, arriving in town would signal an impending catastrophe at best. They are fully capable of destroying a town on a whim at worst. Luckily, Lucius has a strong sense of good and evil…
False Life is one of the few “Healing spells” arcane casters have access to. But the spell only bestows temporary hit points which wear off when the spell ends. The spell has a target of “Self,” so it can’t be cast on someone else. Using a magic item like a wand carry’s risks for characters who are untrained in the use of magic.
Color has always been a weakness of mine. When I started this project, to say I was “rusty” would be an understatement. It had been years since I drew with the frequency needed to produce anything on schedule. I made the choice to stick with black and white for the first book because I was learning so much, I did not want to delay the art more than necessary. Now I’m ready to add color. And as with the first issue, the only way to get better is to work through it all.
With the start of issue two, I’m trying my hand at color! Meet me back here next week for episode 24 (Issue 2, Page 2) of the continuing saga of The Boatmen. I have lots of printed copies of Issue 1. If anyone is interested, send me a message through the comment form or one of my socials!
